Huawei MatePad Mini to Windows & Mac: What Actually Works?

In this video, I’m exploring different ways to share files between my Huawei MatePad Mini, Windows PC, and Mac Studio.

I started by attempting to connect the devices using traditional network sharing and network discovery. I wanted to see whether I could access and transfer files directly between the devices without relying on third-party applications.

After running into some connection issues with both Windows and macOS, I decided to explore another option: LocalSend.

LocalSend is a free, open-source application that allows you to transfer files between devices using your local network. Unlike traditional network sharing, which may require configuring shared folders, permissions, and login credentials, LocalSend uses its own device discovery system to find other devices running the application on the same network.

If you’re using a Huawei tablet alongside a Windows computer or Mac, this video may help you explore another way to transfer files between your devices.

Have you managed to get traditional network sharing working with HarmonyOS, Windows, or macOS? Let me know in the comments what methods you’ve used.
